Penvyllyn Family Tree

Catherine Penvyllyn

Catherine was known for her adventurous spirit and affinity for parties! She loved hosting when the family lived in France, and brought that same energy to America! Her husband Freddie called her “birdie” since She was apparently very talented at singing and piano and would use it to entertain guests for hours on end. Sadly, she passed long before her time from an unfortunate fernet allergy.

Frederick Penvyllyn

Frederick was known as a quiet but kind, intellectual man. He and his wife believed in breaking out of the family mold and sought to build a new life in America. He and his wife sought out the unconventional over the standard, though this raised a lot of tension within the family back in France which they maintained close ties with. Not long before his death, many were surprised he changed his will to leave the estate to Elizabeth. This was highly unusual for the time, and caused further rifts in the Penvyllen family.

Pierre Penvyllyn I

Pierre was the oldest son of Catherine and Frederick. He was a man of principle and valued order, justice, and tradition. Fun fact! Everyone called him french fry due to his French sounding name and the fact he was a whiz in the kitchen! He was not a fan of this nickname.

Noah Penvyllyn

Noah was a painter— well in fact he changed pursuits many times but has an artistic flair which always came back to painting. In his youth he was known to be quite the partier and rebel. But eventually he settled down and married, and helped maintain stanyan manor and restore the family names reputation among family in France.

Elizabeth Penvyllyn

Known as the “matriarch” of the family for making stanyan manor what it is today, Elizabeth was known as a quirky and curious child. She always wanted to learn, and devoted herself to both earthly and occult studies. Her obsession with tarot cards both entertained and frightened family and friends alike. She was always kind to animals-particularly fond of cats. She is rumored to have set the curse on the house, though there is much debate over the veracity of these claims

James Penvyllyn

Elizabeth’s husband. He unfortunately also died rather young from falling down a hill in San Francisco while trying to get a good look at the Golden Gate Bridge. He was known to be a kind man and a fantastic cat dad.

Rebecca Penvyllyn

Rebecca was the only child to James and Elizabeth. She never married or had children, but she apparently had a roommate she was best friends with! She also had the artistic streak and was well known for her paintings and ceramics at the craft fairs. Unfortunately, Elizabeth’s line ended from there and the estate passed to new hands. Pierre’s children were next in line, so after Elizabeth’s death, he and his wife moved into the estate until it was left to their children.

Alex Penvyllyn

Alex was Pierre’s oldest child. While they should have been the heir to the estate, Pierre regretted that they fell into the depravity of the Barbary coast and reefer madness. Aside from their many escapades, they were reportedly a huge fan of Fernet—which was a slap in the face to the family given the passing of Lady Catherine.

Lady Gertrude Penvyllyn

Lady Gertrude was Pierre’s youngest daughter. Gertrude, on the other hand, took after her father. Quite conservative and dutiful, she sought to restore the principles and values of the Penvyllen name. It is rumored that she attempted to change the artwork in the house to a more refined taste, however, was victim to chronic insomnia by waking up to a hissing noise every night at precisely 3 am. It wasn’t until she let go of the impulse to redecorate that she fell into comfort. She vowed to ensure the family name would be restored as an admirable and elite one.

Pierre Penvyllyn II

Pierre the Second was Lady Gertrude’s eldest son, and devoted heir. He was known to be soft spoken and motivated, quite an accomplished writer as a part time hobby to full time gentleman. He was quite the eligible bachelor for a long time, before setting his sights on Elinor. This caused some slight tension in the family as she had been working as an actress when the couple met and came from a modest family background. However, she was known to be sweet of temperament and refined in her manners, so lady Gertrude softened. Upon Elinor's death he was so grief stricken he abandoned his family and the manor.

Elinor Penvyllyn

Elinor was the wife of Pierre the Second. She was a sweet lady and devoted mother, if not occasionally known for bouts of melancholy. She brought new life to the estate. She hosted many events, usually baking her beloved chocolate peppermint cake from scratch. It is rumored she started taking interest and curiosity in the family treasure. This likely caused tension in the home. It was thought she abandoned the idea, until a horrible accident near a secret passageway raised suspicion. The official story from authorities has always been-tragic accident, no sign of foul play. Though, for the more superstitious among us, Elizabeth’s curse came immediately to mind. Elinor has 3 children, the eldest Hugo is the current resident of the estate alongside his second wife, Linda.

Some say she is rumored to be the first person to face the family “curse”
